Therapist – 2 year fixed term contract - Basildon

About the Role:

Based in Basildon – 15 hours per week, £12,240.03 per annum

You will be responsible for supporting the organisation’s Therapeutic Lead in offering therapeutic support to survivors of domestic abuse, ‘honour-based’ abuse and stalking, ensuring a safe and high quality service is in place that meets the standards of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

The role will require you to be based at Basildon (Refuge and Parklands Centre).

Domestic Abuse Practitioner (DAP)

About the Role :

Full Time – based in Basildon – 37.5 hours per week, £24,973.54 per annum – Permanent

The role will require you to be based at Parklands Centre.  

The role will require you to support and advocate on behalf of victims/survivors of domestic abuse. This will involve telephone support and face to face community-based appointments.   

In line with the new Domestic Abuse Act, children’s needs will be assessed as victims in their own right with referrals made to Changing Pathways’ Children’s Services where necessary.  

A vehicle and clean and current driving licence is required for this post.

Due to the nature of the work, we require someone who is able to show resilience and is able to deal with potentially difficult conversations and information on a daily basis.

Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)

About the Role:

Full time – based in Harlow – 37.5 hours per week – £27,372.38 per annum

The role will require you to be based at Harlow.

You will be working with high risk survivors of domestic abuse in the Harlow area, providing support and advocacy to address their immediate risk and safety needs whilst helping them take that first step on a pathway without fear and abuse.  In line with the new Domestic Abuse Act, children’s needs will be assessed as victims in their own right with referrals made to Changing Pathways’ Children’s Services where necessary.

This is a fast-paced role working with risk and as such we are seeking a dynamic individual who is skilled in crisis management and able to assess risk for survivors of domestic abuse.

This position requires you to be already working as an IDVA, either qualified or unqualified.

A Safe Lives IDVA or Women’s Aid DAPA qualification would be advantageous.

A vehicle and clean and current driving licence is required for this post.

The role will require you to be based at Thurrock Refuge. 

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of support for the domestic abuse element of the Thurrock 0-19 Brighter Futures Healthy Families model. The post holder will be responsible for working with adults experiencing domestic abuse and/or stalking, providing an eight-week education programme on domestic abuse and the impact on children. The post holder will be responsible for delivering all parts of the Brighter Futures contract including face to face, telephone, drop in support and service promotion.
